First, join the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Then, come to a meeting and pay $25 (single) or $35 (family) for your NW Ring of Fire membership dues. Joining after Sept. runs your membership through the next year.
NWRF Meeting Themes for 2012:
JANUARY: "Do a Trick for Me" (Be ready to perform a trick with a borrowed deck of cards).FEBRUARY: "Robert Harbin Night" (Tricks with paper, books, envelopes, etc). Performance and workshop.
MARCH: "May the Force be With You" (Tricks that require the spectator to make a choice that is anything but free).
APRIL: "Larry Jennings Night" (Tricks involving water, liquids, and all stuff runny).
MAY: "It's In Print" (Perform a trick that you learned from a book, magazine, lecture notes, etc.) No cheating and watching it on video!!!
JUNE: "Dai Vernon Night" (Tricks involving cutting and slicing).
JULY: "Deja Vu Night" (The same effect ALL NIGHT LONG). A chance to see and perform the same trick. We will all agree on the effect.
AUGUST: "Fred Sanford Night" (Bring your worst magic purchase and perform it).
SEPTEMBER: "John Ramsay Night" (Tricks with food, groceries, and all things supermarket).
OCTOBER: "Theodore Annemann Night" (Mentalism, and things bizarre).
NOVEMBER: "Some Assembly Required" (Show and Tell tricks you needed to put together, find parts for, or build. Or just an unusual prop you'd like to show off).
DECEMBER: "I've Never Really Done this Kind of Thing Before" (You've had all year to get ready, now do something you've wanted to do, but never have).

Eric Jones Lecture
Eric Jones is beginning to make a name for himself in the world of close-up magic. Armed with cunning sleight of hand and a charming personality, Eric dazzles his audiences with his digital dexterity. He uses these tools to politely deceive and entertain his audiences. Ordinary, everyday items become objects of fancy as Eric delicately handles them with feats of prestidigitation. Coins multiply, cards fly, and audiences cheer.
Eric lecture will challenge you to look at your magic in a whole new light after discussing ways to make close up effects play to large audiences, re-directing attention rather than misdirecting it, how to properly block/stage your performances to both conceal method as well as optimize the audience reaction to the magic. These and several other ideas will be discussed while you learn some of Eric's award winning magic.
